INTEGRATIVE THERAPY AND COUNSELLING FOR THE MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT OF CHILDREN, TEENAGERS AND ADULTS

Hi, I’m Katie!

I'm an empathetic psychotherapist offering 1-1 therapy both in person (across Solihull, Knowle, Kenilworth, and Coventry) and online anywhere in the UK.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My professional training includes specialist counselling qualifications for children through the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education and for adults through the London School of Theology.

My journey to becoming a therapist is backed by a diverse working background. I have experience across several different fields-primarily working closely with children and young people in various roles, including youth work, playwork, and as a private nanny.

If you're struggling with a specific issue, feeling overwhelmed by a mix of challenges, or simply want to learn how to manage stress before it takes over, I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

I believe everyone deserves access to great mental health care, which is why my practice is rooted in ethical, diverse, and inclusive support under the regulations of the BACP ethics and standards.

I have experience supporting clients with a wide range of emotional, psychological, and life challenges. Whilst I work with many different concerns, I have a particular interest and extensive experience in the following areas:

Neurodiversity

As a neurodivergent practitioner, I have firsthand and professional experience navigating the complexities of the diagnosis process and managing major life transitions. I work integratively, meaning every session is flexible and tailor-made to your unique needs.

I also offer creative therapeutic approaches to help you express what is difficult to put into words and to support emotional regulation.

Please note that I am not qualified to assess and give a diagnosis for neurodiversity. Seek referral through your GP, school/ college/ university or a private practitioner for this.

Identity, Culture and Discrimination

I have had the privilege of working alongside people from many different cultures, backgrounds, and communities. I believe everyone deserves access to counselling that is respectful, inclusive, and culturally aware.

My practice is guided by the BACP Ethical Framework, ensuring confidentiality and professionalism, where we can celebrate how you identify, address systemic or personal challenges, and empower you to move forward.

Children and Teenagers

I have over 15 years of experience supporting children and young people across a variety of settings. I offer a compassionate space to navigate a wide range of concerns, including academic stress and anxiety, bereavement, grief and loss, the impact of cancer and coping with a loved one's illness, health and neurodiversity diagnoses, LGBTQ+ and identity exploration, relationship difficulties, anger management, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts.

Spirituality and Religion

As a Christian, I recognise that spirituality and faith can play an important role in many people's lives, while others may hold different beliefs or no religious beliefs at all.

Whether your faith is a source of strength, something you are questioning, or not something you wish to discuss, therapy will always be led by your preferences. If you would like your spirituality or religious beliefs to form part of our work together, they can be incorporated as much or as little as feels right for you.

Not seeing your specific issue listed? That is completely fine. Please reach out anyway—we can discuss what you are looking for and see how I can best support you.

My Qualifications

  • BA (Hons) Theology and Counselling from Middlesex University

  • Certificate in Counselling Skills with Children (Using the Arts ) from The Institute for Arts in Therapy & Education

  • NOCN Level 3 Certificate in Youth Work Practice

I frequently update my practice through Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to ensure that my work remains current, ethical, and effective. As part of this I also hold a Level 3 certifcate in Safegaurding Children.

Finding the right therapist is an important part of the process. Qualifications and experience matter, but so does the connection you feel. I offer a complimentary consultation so you can explore whether we are the right match.

Just like mushrooms growing in the dark, we too can find growth in our darkest moments. If you are feeling stuck or facing a barrier, you don't have to carry that weight alone—doing so can feel isolating and unsafe. Counselling offers a compassionate space to gain the clarity and encouragement needed to move forward.
